At Rheinland Farm, clicker training
is an important part of horse training. For the first time, Elo
feels competent to be able to train a youngster. All of her
acquaintances
know the meaning of positive reinforcement and how consistent the
improvement curve is with this method.

Elo did presentations at the Essex County
horse camp for 4-H youngsters and impromptu demonstrations when people
asked “how can you handle a horse this big?”

People are always impressed how easy
Flash is to bridle.
Recently, we had boy scouts at the farm
to get a first hand experience about horses. Judy was nice, she liked
being groomed. Flash will perform for hours and he especially
likes his sugar cubes. Flash was extremely upset
when he was done performing and had to go back into his stall. "But I
can do it again and again and again" he told Elo.

The wonderful bond between Elo and Flash is due to
the fact that Alex Kurland and Dolores Arste helped Elo develop her
clicker repertoire. Alex has wonderful books out for people who want
to learn clicker training for horses. It really makes the relationship
between your horse and you special. It is a true partnership.
