Flash came to us a very well broke draft horse. He knew how to be tied and was broke to drive single and double. He was very well behaved, for a draft horse. He was also a little bit lax on ground manners. If he wanted to go one way and I wanted him to go another way, guess which way we went. I was very much intimated by him. He chased me out of his stall one time, and I didn't go back in for six months. Denise had to handle all the chores that pertained to going in his stall. Denise was leaving for college and I needed to do something. That something was going to a clicker training seminar with Alexandra Kurland. This changed my life and especially Flash's life. I came back from this weekend and Denise run out of the house. She wanted me to help get Flash of the trailer and into his stall. I told her: Don't touch my horse again. I have done everything else on my own from then on. This was just the beginning.
Now Flash basically bridles himself. I hold the bit, he takes it, leaves his head down so I can put the bridle over his ears. He is showing in Halter, in the cart classes, dressage, jumping and this year will start a career in low level eventing. He also likes to go in parades. He is the perfect lesson horse for little kids.
